The Museum’s mission
The Martyrs’ Museum in Żabikowo, launched in 1979, is located on the area of the former German Security Police Prison and Corrective Labour Camp. It is a cultural institution of the Wielkopolska local authorities. As a part of its statutory duties, it takes care of the Places of Remembrance, i.e. former camps and places of extermination.

The Museum’s mission is to preserve the memory of victims of German crimes committed in Wielkopolska, to arrange exhibitions, carry out research and educational activity and to take care of and restore post-camp relics. The Museum carries out documentation of the history of the Żabikowo camp and 144 forced labour camps for Jews in Wielkopolska.

The Museum co-operates with other museums, Polish and foreign scientific and research centres and associations whose goals are similar.
